Chun Hua Catherine Dong is a performance artist living in Vancouver. She holds a BFA from Emily Carr University, pursuing her MFA at Concordia University. As part of her interest in identity politics and postmodern feminism, she utilizes her own body as a disturbance in order to explore ruptures in society. Her performance mainly deals with deterritorialization and disessentialization in the taken-for-granted world through examining her multifaceted struggles associated with identity, gender, and sexuality. Her recent research interests focus on wearables that examine how technology transforms the materiality of the body to create a new language acknowledging that the body can be generated and re-invented.

Patrick Cruz is born and raised in Manila, Philippines. He recently studied clownology in 2010 and is currently living and working in Surrey, BC. Inspired by the subversive nature of language and the exoticization of the other, Patrick Cruz uses sound to explore notions of absurdity and humour in the work – “Closing, mp3, 1:33 loop, 2011”. Sampled from a clothing store closing in Chinatown, the one minute and thirty three second audio loop renegotiates the relocated context of language within the closed premise of the gallery.

In his wide-ranged practice (usually involving painting, drawing, installation & sculpture), Kristofferson San Pablo investigates current ideas about piracy, sexuality, and the idea of the remix. For the show, San Pablo takes the platform of the webcam/internet as a way to take on the subject of the classical nude figure drawing. For the show opening, an all night performance titled “7 Minutes In Heaven” in which a room with a live webcam feed with San Pablo in his Los Angeles studio will be open for viewers to participate and sit in as a model for his ongoing series of drawings. This will be his first time showing outside the U.S. since his solo show earlier this year in San Francisco’s M_NI_C gallery, titled Mania II. San Pablo holds an MFA in Fine Art from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and currently works & lives in Los Angeles.
